A 24-year-old Hamilton Hill man faces attempted robbery charges after he allegedly threatened staff at a drive-in coffee shop.

Police say that man approached the Rockingham Road coffee shop in Hamilton Hill at about 2.30pm on August 31 and demanded cash.

A police spokeswoman said the man intimated he had a gun.

"The attendant refused to give the man money, causing the offender to run from the area," she said.

He was later arrested and charged with attempted robbery and is due to appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court today.
