Big crowds are expected in Mandurah this weekend for an eclectic mix of world-class extreme sports and homegrown coastal culture.

The 16th annual Channel Seven Crab Fest will again share the stage with the adrenaline-inducing Action Sports Games.

While the waterski and wakeboard world cup wows spectators, more than one tonne of crabs will be up for grabs on the foreshore.

Hosted by Sunrise presenter Mark Beretta and headlined by Daryl Braithwaite, the Crab Fest program includes live music, an art competition, fireworks and almost 100 food and craft stalls.

In the men's waterski jumping competition, Australia's No. 1 Steven Moss, 25, will look to dethrone US world champion Freddy "The Nightmare" Krueger.

Moss, from Albany, said he was looking forward to sharing his passion with a huge home crowd.
