Accused chase biker in court

A motorcyclist accused of being involved in a police chase, interrupting a State Government election announcement outside Clarkson police station last week has appeared in court.

The man from Butler appeared in Joondalup Magistrate’s Court today on several charges including reckless driving, dangerous driving to escape pursuit and no authority to drive.

The alleged incident occurred on February 15 as Premier Colin Barnett pledging 720 new police officers over four years when the rider allegedly mounted the kerb and skidded along the station’s front lawn.

He allegedly sped away towards Marmion Avenue with police in pursuit.

The man did not plead to the charges and was remanded in custody to reappear in court next Wednesday.
