Jervis in high SBL demand

Tom Jervis has wasted little time getting back on to a basketball court after playing a key role for the Perth Wildcats in their title win last month.

The out-of-contract centre is yet to decide his NBL future but will return to the State Basketball League with East Perth today in a bid to stay fit and fresh over the off-season.

Jervis, 27, was a mature-age recruit for the Wildcats and had a breakout campaign, winning the NBL rookie of the year award.

He will line up for the Eagles against Willetton today before backing up against Kalamunda tomorrow. Both games are at the Morley Sport and Recreation Centre. "I don't want to lose anything that I've worked on throughout the NBL season and I guess the more time I can spend on court, the more I can improve," Jervis said.

The Wildcats are keen to keep Jervis next season but the big man has attracted attention from rival clubs.

"I've got my agent and he's handling it at the moment," he said. "I'm just trying to take it all in because it's my first experience going through it."

The clash between East Perth and Kalamunda will feature a marquee match-up between Jervis and Luke Nevill, who has returned to Perth after an outstanding season in Taiwan.

Nevill has been included in the Boomers squad for the coming four-game series against China.
