Change expected as Eagles get Carter

West Coast will make at least one change to the side named to face Brisbane at the Gabba tomorrow night after young defender Adam Carter flew east this morning.

Carter, 20, was named as an emergency when teams were released yesterday afternoon, but was on the first flight out of Perth today.

However, he is still likely to remain an emergency with Blayne Wilson expected to replace injured Brad Sheppard in the team.

Brad Sheppard, who was named in the 22 but took part in a skills session at Patersons Stadium this morning, according to a picture tweeted by fringe forward Josh Hill.

Wilson's inclusion would be the sixth change to the side which suffered a narrow defeat to ladder leaders Sydney last weekend.

Nic Naitanui, Callum Sinclair, Dom Sheed, Simon Tunbridge and Ash Smith were the other new faces.

Sharrod Wellingham and Jamie Cripps were both dropped, Dean Cox was rested and Matt Rosa (shoulder) and Josh Kennedy (suspension) couldn’t be considered.

Smith and Wilson will both play their first game under new Eagles coach Adam Simpson.
