Round 13 proved unlucky for Rockingham-Mandurah's men as Subiaco-Floreat ran roughshod over them.

However, pride for the Maroons was restored by the women, who won all of their matches on the weekend.

At Lark Hill, the first grade succumbed for a meagre 66 in response to the Lions' modest total of 200.

The Mariners made a better fist of things in the second innings to avert an outright loss and securely make their way to 3-170.

In a glimmer of light from day two, debutant Tyler Robertson demonstrated an assured approach to top score in the first innings (14) and backed that up with 34 not out in his next dig.

Even contributions with the bat enabled the women's B-graders to put up 9-200 at Lark Hill against University.

Sally Hocking (35), Kayla Vanspall (34 not out), Caitlin Crocetta (23) and Mel Saunders (22) put their stamp on the round 5 match, with the Mariners cruising at five runs per over.

The students never threatened the target and were dismissed for 125 as Hocking (3-11) and Saunders (2-9) rounded off a great day's work.

The female juniors set the tone on the Saturday, with the bowlers putting a sleeper hold on the opposition's batting in Twenty20 matches.

The under-18s kept Uni to just 6-21 and eased to 1-37 to stay top of the ladder.

The under-15s batted first and, powered by Amy Clarke's 24 not out, set South Perth a challenging total of 2-89.

Dana Brennan ensured that Souths were always up against it, with two breakthroughs to take the figures of 2-9.

The male under-15s took a valuable win away from Alderbury Reserve by making 166 insurmountable for Subiaco-Floreat's batters.

Johan Van der Westhuizen snaffled 4-15 and Ryan O'Keefe bowled six maidens from seven overs to bag the remarkable figures of 3-1 as the Lions were shut down for 79.

The under-17s are out of the finals race after missing out by nine runs in a vain attempt to keep the Lions away from 170.

The Mariners persevered throughout the contest, Adam France taking 2-29 from his 12 overs, but Subiaco-Floreat eventually snuck past at 8-179.

Outright losses were felt by second and third grade, while fourth grade were in the game when they had the Lions 5-68 after making 131 last week.

However, Subi escaped from the Mariners' clutches and flew to 9-273 despite the best efforts of Ryan McFarlane (2-26), Michael Chappell (2-35) and Daniel Lambert (2-66).

This Saturday, the twos and threes will attempt to rebound from heavy defeats at home to Scarborough as the firsts and fourths travel up to Abbett Park to take on the Gulls.
