Soccer: City chase final spot

Boulder City’s Zoe Deroo and Kalgoorlie College’s Erricah Williams run for the ball.

Twin City face off against a winless Hannans outfit in tomorrow's semifinal as they endeavour to book their spot in the men's A-grade Eastern Goldfields Soccer Association grand final.

City ended the 15 round domestic season on top of the table, seven points clear of their nearest rival after defeating Hannans 4-1 in last weekend's final regular season fixture.

In the other semifinal, second-placed Kalgoorlie College oppose Boulder.

The same two teams took part in last weekend's dead rubber, with Boulder prevailing 1-0.

In B-grade action, top-of-the-table Boulder will start warm favourites in their semifinal encounter with Hannans.

Boulder secured first with last weekend's 5-3 victory over Kalgoorlie - their 10th win this campaign.

In contrast, Hannans have tasted success just once in 2014.

The remaining semifinal pits the second-placed Twin City and Kalgoorlie College.

City enter the match on the back of a 6-0 thumping of Hannans while College will be eager to rectify their loss to Boulder.

In the women's competition, Twin City and Hannans will line up for the second consecutive week in tomorrow's semifinal.

City snared their 10th win from 15 games when running out 3-1 winners in last weekend's final regular season fixture as Hannans face the tough ask of reversing the result.

In the other match, Boulder defeated College 3-0 and will be confident of repeating the result in the remaining semifinal game.

Women's action kicks off at 11am tomorrow, with B-grade at 1pm and A-grade from 3pm at Usher Park.
