Agar cops Shield suspension

Australian cricket prodigy Ashton Agar has been suspended for WA's next four-day match after his second dissent reprimand in the past 18 months.

Agar, 20, was reported by the umpires while playing for WA's Futures League side against QLD on Wednesday.

Because it was his second offence, he was offered and accepted a one-game ban.

The suspension will rule him out of WA's next Sheffield Shield match, starting on February 12 against Tasmania.

Agar's infringement compounds a miserable trip to Queensland for WA's second XI which saw wicket-keeper Tom Triffitt arrested over an early-morning incident on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old was charged with one count of wilful damage and two counts of stealing and is facing the sack from an enraged WACA set-up.
