Endurance ride hotly contested
Horse riders from across the State descended on Manjimup at the weekend for the Manjimup Endurance Ride at the Warren Equestrian Centre.
Mandy Rayner from Grass Valley took out the lightweight category, middleweight winners were Frances Overheu and Caron Goodbourn, from Picton, and the heavyweight winner was John Anderson, from Wellington Mill.
Best conditioned horses were Ruby Park Athena, Poseidon Moon and Ruoak Wholly Smoke.
Riders came from Esperance, Grass Valley, Gingin, Perth and all throughout the Great Southern and South West to compete in the event.
Ride secretary Tracey Lynn said the event received a lot of support from the Warren Pony Club, Warren Horsemens Club and the Manjimup Trotting Club.
Major sponsors included Bannister Downs Dairy, WAPRES, Global Advanced Metals, Elders Insurance and Advance Packing and Marketing.
