Two airlifted after major SW crash

Two men have been airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital after a major car crash in Margaret River at about 7.18am this morning.

Police major crash investigators, St John Ambulance, and Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service members from Margaret River, Augusta, Dunsborough, and Bunbury attended the crash on Wallcliffe Road, between Wooditch and Isaac Roads.

The Times understands one of the men suffered a broken arm, leg, and pelvis in the crash.

Major road closures to the area disrupted traffic to the ongoing Margaret River Pro surfing event.

The organisers of the event had earlier called it off for the day because of low swells.

The road is expected to remain closed for several hours while police investigate the crash.
