Mum shaves head for charity

Busselton's Mark Coyne, 5, and brother Liam Coyne, 3, support mum Courtney as she prepares to shave her head as part of the World’s Greatest Shave.

Courtney Coyne has watched too many children suffer from leukaemia.

Since having her own children, the 26-year-old can't imagine life without them and is shaving her hair off so other parents don't have too either.

Ms Coyne will take part in the World's Greatest Shave next month and said she aimed to raise more than $1200.

"I'm really lucky to have two healthy and beautiful children," she said.

"I want them to know that not everyone is as blessed as them and we can do things to help other people.

"They are old enough to understand why I'm shaving my hair and are supportive of my decision."

This is the second time Ms Coyne will have shaved her head for cancer.

She shaved her head as a 16-year-old for a friend who had cancer.

"I really hope I can get some local people and businesses behind me and raise more than my goal," she said.
