BUNBURY Show coordinator Rosina Mogg is calling for riders and their mounts to take part in a special parade to honour Anzacs and their horses on the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing.

With just eight weeks left until the big event on April 11, riders are being asked to mark the date on their calendar.

"This year's parade promises to be the biggest and best yet," Mrs Mogg said.

"The theme is horses in service."

"We are hoping for as many riders as possible to help us celebrate this special year."

Mrs Mogg said one of the main attractions would be the Bunbury 10th Light Horse re-enactment group, which would lead the parade, as well as putting on a number of displays at the show.

Bunbury 10th Light Horse Troop president Harry Ball said the group's involvement with the show was important and timely.

"This area (Bunbury) was at the heart of farming in the South West, it was the supply and economic centre to what was an agricultural area," he said.

"We are proud to be involved with the show as it celebrates and remembers the horse and its part in the community in times of peace and war."

Mrs Mogg said that all horse owners were welcome to join the parade, but it was essential they registered their interest with organisers as soon as possible on the show website, www.bunburyshow.com.au .

"We want to get as many owners and horses as possible involved in the parade," she said.

"Interested people should fill in the registration form on our website under the Horse Events tab."
