Australind man collects $2.7m Lotto prize

An Australind man has come forward to claim his $2.72 million Lotto prize from the weekend's Megadraw.

The South West winner's weekly tradition of checking his Lotto tickets proved more exciting than usual as he ticked off all six winning numbers.

"I saw I had the first three numbers and thought this is promising," he said.

"When the winning numbers just kept coming I couldn't believe it, I was stunned.

"I even took a photo of the ticket and sent it to a family member to verify it was true."

The lucky man said the win came after a few tough years.

"Luck is on my side now and I hope it continues," he said.

"Although I still plan on working, I'm going to sit back, relax a bit more and think carefully about how I will spend the money."

Plans for the Megadraw winner included travelling around Australia and sharing some of his good fortune with family.

The man was one of 11 Division One winners from across the country in the weekend's $30 million Megadraw.

Meanwhile, Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from a Morley millionaire. The Division One Lotto ticket worth $1 million was sold at Carramar Lottery Centre and News in Morley in last night's draw.
