Manjimup sprinkler ban

A total sprinkler ban was put in place in the Shire of Manjimup from Saturday, 1 September.

Water Corporation regional manager Scott Moorhead said the restrictions would help secure supply for the town following months of low rainfall and little inflow to the storage dams since 2010.

Work had started to install pipes and treatment units to transfer water from contingency sources, he said.

Manjimup’s drinking water storage is atj ust 25 per cent capacity—less than half of the town’s annual demand.

A major water efficiency program will be launched in Manjimup in the coming weeks and a pipeline to connect the town with the Bridgetown Regional Scheme is planned for next spring.
