Double Yellow bounce back
Round 5 of the pennants season saw the Bruised Ball Bashers con- cede their first loss to Double Yellow Fever.
The loss came despite Luke Jessop defeating Eion Simmons 15-7,13-15, 15-11, 11-15, 15-3.
Harry Cizerle went down to Matthew McCrea in a tough five-setter 15-8, 12-15, 15-12, 9-15, 12-15 and John Warburton lost to Trevor Egan 5-15, 9-15, 5-15.
In the other draw, quick games saw Gladiators defeat The Strokers, with Thomas Spottswood rolling John Stade 17-15, 15-6, 15-6.
Meanwhile, Gary Bowyer defeated Joel Reeve 15-5, 15-3, 15-10 and Stephen Love was defeated by Jared Cizerle 8-15, 4-15, 9-15.
The Bruised Ball Bashers meet Double Yellow Fever in the finals this week.
