Crabs pinch spot in finals

Pegs Creek Crabs will face off against Karratha Kats in the West Pilbara cricket final this weekend after a comfortable 90-run win against the Rec Club in Bulgarra.

Choosing to bat first, the Crabs got off to a poor start when Nathan Hampson was run out and fellow opener Gavin Hay fell soon after.

Daniel Carse and Paul Marion fell in quick succession and the Crabs were out of sorts at 4-39.

Combining with the middle order, wicketkeeper Bevan Meston reached a season-best score to get the Crabs' innings back on track.

Meston was eventually caught out on 93 and the tail put on 32 more runs to post a target of 8-207.

Keiran Sullivan (3-12) and Kim Wilson (2-16) then took the ball for the Crabs and kept the Rec Club batsmen bogged down.

The Rec Club were bowled out for 117, with Harrison Attard taking the final wicket.
