Players enjoy summer action

Round 2 of the Hedland Home Timber and Hardware Summer Cup was held at the weekend in warm conditions.

Jarrod Hodgins was closest on the 13th, which was also the money hole, while Donna Thomas went closest on the 17th.

There must have been quite a strong tail wind this week which finally allowed Hodgins to claim a men's long drive, while Nat Devenish hit the longest for the women. The long putt went to Glenn Robertson.

With another big field in attendance, scoring was tight at the top.

In third place was Gary Player who was just pipped on a countback by Hodgins on 20 points each.

On 21 points, Ray Jeffs, in his last game at the club, was the winner.

This weekend will be the third round of the Summer Cup.

Players will take on the front nine this week.

Players should have their names registered by 2pm for a 2.30pm tee-off.
