Refugees in Thailand will receive new school uniforms this year after a donation from St Cecilia's Primary School.

Help Save The Kids executive director Judah Tana said the uniforms would benefit 68 students who his organisation has helped escape civil war in Burma.

"The children range from eight years old to 19," he said.

"It's actually illegal for education passed grade four in their country so we have worked with the government to be able to take them to Thailand under the refuge scheme.

"We can then send educated students back to their country to help with development."

Students at St Cecilia's Primary School have been donating uniforms and writing letters to students at the Thailand school for three years.

School secretary Hilary Rozario said the Catholic school was always looking for ways to give to others.
