Esperance police have seized a "significant" amount of cannabis after receiving an anonymous tip-off from a member of the public.

Police were informed on Sunday that 413g of cannabis was being transported to Esperance on a passenger bus.

Sergeant James Reid, who was in attendance during the seizure, confirmed police monitored a 26-year-old woman via CCTV.

The Esperance woman left the bus before allegedly loading the drugs into a car and driving away just after 9pm on Sunday.

Police followed, stopping the vehicle on Windich Street.

The drugs were found in a bag, which the woman admitted was in her possession, police said.

A second person in the vehicle was not charged with any offences.

A misuse of drugs search warrant was carried out at a nearby address and drugs, cash and cannabis-related paraphernalia were seized. Sergeant Reid estimated the confiscated cannabis to have a street value of about $15,000.

"For the police station it's a significant arrest and a significant amount of cannabis to seize," he said. The 26-year-old was charged with possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell and supply.

She will appear in the Esperance Magistrate's Court on March 10.
