Donning elegant floor-length gowns and impeccable suits, about 160 young men and women entered the Kalgoorlie Town Hall for a night of dancing, socialising and celebration.

This year's theme, Simply Centenary, saw the hall decorated in a style reminiscent of the Roaring Twenties.

The theme was chosen by students as the school will be celebrating its centenary this month.

Belle and beau of the ball were awarded to Afge Grimbeek and Billy Perriman.

Principal Dan McCormack said he was proud of all the students.

"They were all dressed up like stars," he said.

"Some arrived by horse and cart and I'm sure there were a few in limousines as well.

"They looked very flash in their go-gear and their ball dresses."
