Sick woman's wish

A sick Kalgoorlie-Boulder woman has made a desperate plea for tradespeople and handymen to volunteer their time for a busy bee to help renovate her home.

Chris Bensemann is suffering a number of diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and interstitial lung disease, but said her only wish was to have her Hare Street home finished.

She said her husband Rick had done some of the renovations, but the family needed expert help to finish the home.

“We need people with experience to help us finish it,” she said.

The busy bee will take place at the home from 10am on Sunday, with a number of people and businesses already agreeing to help and provide building materials.

Among the list of work, the Bensemanns need another bathroom built, while the laundry and lounge room walls also require fixing. The house is also without a number of skirting boards, door trims and architraves around door frames.
