Christmas gifts sought in appeal

With Christmas coming up fast, the Bank of Queensland is encouraging residents to donate to those less fortunate.

Throughout November, the bank will be collecting Christmas gifts for The Smith Family’s Toy and Book Appeal.

The Smith Family is a national, independent children’s charity, helping disadvantaged Australian children and young people to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.

The bank has supported the appeal for the past three years and has been able to collect thousands of presents for disadvantaged children by calling on the support of more than 270 branches.

BOQ Kalgoorlie customer service manager Adel Hallett encouraged everyone to reflect on what they could do this Christmas to help those in need.

“It’s easy sometimes to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our own lives and to forget how truly lucky we are,” she said.

Gifts can be donated to the Bank of Queensland on Cassidy Street. Phone 9021 7166 for more information.
