Shiploads of holiday fun

Youngsters had a rollicking good time at the Esperance Library last week making ships in a bottle as part of school holiday activities.

Parents and library staff helped out, providing lots of materials such as rocks, sea creatures, pirate flags and sails to carefully place into the bottles once the ships were made from clay.

To complete the pirate theme, there was a wide range of colourful temporary tattoos for the youngsters to wear.

There were also treasure chest making classes during the week with children having the choice of making chests too scary to touch or nice and decorative.
