A suspicious bushfire in the Gnangara Pine Plantation is out of control and moving fast in a a north-easterly direction.

A bushfire watch and act has been issued for people in the northern part of the Gnangara Pine Plantation, east of Perry Road and north of Higgins Road in the City of Wanneroo.

The fire, which the Department of Environment and Conservation advises is moving at 700m an hour, is burning in the Gnangara Pine Plantation between Perry Road and Higgins Road.

In a DEC report at 3.30pm the department advised that 7ha had been burnt.

No roads are closed but motorists are advised to avoid the area because fire and other emergency services personnel are working in the area.

Some 30 DEC, Bush Fire Brigade and Department of Fire and Emergency Services firefighters are on the scene.

Two helitacs, a type 1 and four water bomber aircraft have been sent to assist ground crews.
