Disappointed contestant Jayde Grey says she will probably never go on a reality singing show again after Kylie Minogue's effort to save her on The Voice was edited out.
Grey was booted out during a battle-round showdown on Monday with professional singer Louise Van Veenendaal.
The 19-year-old said that on the day of taping, Minogue pushed her buzzer to save her from elimination but it was outside the five-second time limit the judges have to respond.
It meant that even though Minogue wanted to save Grey from going home on the Nine show, she couldn't.
Grey criticised the show for not allowing the failed save to go to air on Monday night.
"I'd have to think about that (going on a reality singing show again)," Grey said.
"It was a really crazy experience and I don't particularly like the fact that what happened wasn't shown to the public.
"I don't care that I missed out but I think it was something that should have been shown."
A Nine spokeswoman confirmed Minogue tried to save Grey but said it ended up on the cutting room floor because of time constraints.
"They (the judges) have a five- second time limit and, in Jayde's case, Kylie pressed her button after the lockout and was too late to save her," the spokeswoman said.
"We rarely show the process when an artist isn't saved as we simply don't have the time."
Grey says that on the day of taping, she believed she had been saved.
She said Minogue apologised for being late on the buzzer and her mentor will.i.am was pitching to Joel Madden to save her from elimination.
"At the time I had no idea it was outside the time limit and the audience there didn't realise either," she said
"Kylie said 'You can play that back and you can see I pushed it' and she was like 'I'm sorry'.
"Even will.i.am was trying to override the decision.
"I did feel a little bit duped but at the same time I understand its the format and they have to stick to it."
Grey is contracted to The Voice until three months after the show ends.
