Aust shares close higher

The Australian share market has closed higher, despite New York stock futures tumbling on reports of an ebola case in New York city.

At the close on Friday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 29.1 points, or 0.54 per cent, higher at 5,412.2, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 29.4 points, or 0.55 per cent, at 5,399.3, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the December share price index futures contract was 28 points higher at 5,399, with 30,606 contracts traded.
