Rockingham band Last Resignation will go out with a bang on Saturday night, as they bid farewell to crowds.

Lead guitarist Andy Ranford said the five-piece outfit had decided to take a hiatus after four years gigging at the Rockingham Hotel and hoped to go out as they came in - with a fun-filled night of classic pub rock.

Ranford said visitors to the Rocky could expect an energetic set filled with tunes from Foo Fighters, Powderfinger, AC/DC, Pearl Jam and more - and the band hoped locals would join them in celebrating the end of an era.

He said lead singer Darren Clifton and drummer Phil Nazier would take an indefinite break from the music scene, but he planned to re-form the act with vocalist Tanya Smithdale and bassist Jason Bunn.

"We've built up a pretty decent following of family and friends and jam at a rehearsal space once a week, but some of the guys have family and other commitments," Ranford said.

"We're looking at rebuilding and taking on some new members."

A recent addition to the line-up, Smithdale said she had never performed with a band before joining in January, but had always been into music and loved to get up on stage and rock out.

Clifton said the inclusion of a female vocalist added a new dimension to the selection of covers, which now included numbers from Pink, No Doubt and Baby Animals.

Doors open at 6.30pm.
