1. Bayside Beats

Music legend Jimmy Barnes will be in Bunbury on Friday night for Bayside Beats.

The former Cold Chisel frontman is headlining the Bunbury Turf Club show and will be supported by reformed Bunbury band The Words.

Tickets are available from Ticketmaster and includes entry to Bunbury Stakes Day.


2. Stakes Day

Bunbury's racing carnival kicks off with Stakes Day on Sunday.

It will be a day of on-track and off-track entertainment including Fashion on the Field and the announcement of the Face of the South West Fashion Festival.

Giveaways and a full race card cap off an exciting day at Bunbury Turf Club.


3. Great Women of Country

To celebrate the release of their brand new collaborative album, _Great Women of Country and the Songs That Made Them _, country stars Beccy Cole and Melinda Schneider perform in Bunbury.

They will be presenting a special concert performance where they deliver the new album live in full at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Friday night.

4. Cricket finals
Finals time has arrived in the Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association.

The final four teams remain in the A-grade competition, with Collie taking on Dalyellup Beach in one semi-final at a venue to be confirmed.

Hay Park will play Marist/Colts at a venue to be confirmed in the other.

Both matches will start at 12.40pm on Saturday.


5. Focus film

Will Smith plays seasoned conman Nicky Spurgeon in his latest film Focus.

He takes a young woman, played by Margot Robbie, under his wing and has the obligatory romance.

Three years later, Robbie's character Jess is also an accomplished con artist and shows up in Buenos Aires, potentially harming Nicky's latest scheme.

Focus is rated MA and opens on Thursday at Grand Cinemas Bunbury.


6. Prince sounds

Seven-piece act Little Bastard is heading to Bunbury.

The Sydneysiders have a diverse range of instruments in their repertoire including guitars, bass, fiddle, banjo, harmonica and mandolin.

They have played at Falls Festival and their latest album is described as acoustic, anchored punk rock.

Their Desert Roller tour will roll into the Prince of Wales on Thursday night with free entry.


7. Withers open day

An open day for the new Withers community garden will be held on Saturday.

Everyone is invited to attend and learn about the project while enjoying a free morning tea.

Winners of the primary school student poster competition will also be announced.

The open day will kick off from 9.30am to 11am with all Withers residents invited.

The garden is located at the rear of the Withers Library and is proudly supported by the City of Bunbury and the South West Development Commission.


8. Viva Bunbury

Latin flavour will hit Victoria Street on Saturday night for Viva Bunbury.

The street party will run from 5pm-9pm and include live Latin music, a street parade and performances by Rio Samba Queens and Nueva Salsa Orchestra.

There will also be face painting, salsa lessons, displays and giant pinatas.

9. Opera in the Park

Watch City of Perth's Opera in the Park without leaving Bunbury on Friday night.

A live simulcast of the Supreme Court Gardens event will take place at the New Lyric Theatre on Bourke Street, starting at 7.45pm.

This simulcast of The Barber of Seville is a free event, with seats able to be booked by calling 9791 4696.


10. Open mic night

Lighthouse Beach Resort will host an open mic night on Friday.

Music, poetry, comedy and dance will all be showcased at this entertaining event.

Doors open at 7.45pm and the entertainment starts at 8pm.

Entry is $10 and $5 for under-18s who are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
