Unrestrained kids hurt in crash

Six children injured when a car crashed into three stationary vehicles in Cockburn Central were not wearing seatbelts, police say.

A police spokeswoman said the 28-year-old driver of the car crashed into three stationary vehicles at the intersection of Armadale Road and the Kwinana Freeway overpass about 10.30pm.

The children, aged between five and nine, were passengers in a Kia Cerato and were not wearing seatbelts, she said.

“The driver of the Cerato was taken to Fremantle Hospital with serious injuries,” she said.

The children were also injured and were taken to hospital.

The drivers of the cars that were hit – a Mitsubishi Triton utility, a Hyundai Tucson and a Toyota Hilux – were not injured in the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the Cerato before the crash is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
