Sunny jaunt suits rock chic

Former supermodel Gail Elliott says Nicole Trunfio is the perfect embodiment of the "rock chic" girl she designs for.

Australind-raised beauty Trunfio made a splash when she walked exclusively for Elliott's label Little Joe Woman at Myer's annual spring/summer launch last month.

Elliott, who was a coveted face in her own right in the 1990s, told Access All Areas Trunfio was a "supermodel with brains".

"She travels, she is luxurious, she is smart, she is fun," the designer, above with Trunfio, said.

"She knows what she wants in life and she really is that rock chic girl who I like to see in my clothes. I like to see my clothes on all customers of course but when I design that is the sort of girl I think of. Everyone has a little rock chic in them."

After defecting from David Jones to Myer earlier this year, Elliott will arrive in Perth this week ahead of the retailer's annual fashion luncheon on Thursday as part of Telstra Perth Fashion Festival.

She said the WA climate lent itself perfectly to her range of slip dresses and resort-style pieces.

"I really like Perth, I have been over three or four times and it is beautiful," Elliott said. "It is so sunny. Last time I came with my husband and we went to Rottnest, we really enjoyed it."
