Armadale woman hit by car

A 29-year-old woman is recovering in hospital after being hit by a car in Armadale overnight.

At about 6.45pm the woman and her partner were walking along Railway Avenue when she was hit by a Mitsubishi Verada.

Witnesses attempted to assist the woman, but were then hampered by her partner. They received minor injuries during the altercation.

Saint John Ambulance took the woman to RPH with leg injuries.

According to police, a 47-year-old man was behind the wheel of the Mitsubishi.

Police inquiries are continuing and no charges have been laid.
