Romantic style in Broome fashion

Cable Beach provided the spectacular backdrop for a marriage proposal which will unite Perth's fashion and racing royalty.

In the middle of the social frenzy surrounding the Broome Cup at the weekend, Ben Tana surprised Clover Lee-Steere on their morning run along the iconic beach.

Tana is the son of Parker Menswear's Victor and Deborah Tana, while Lee- Steere is the granddaughter of the late Sir Ernest Lee- Steere, chairman of the Western Australian Turf Club from 1963 to 1984.

"I was really nervous," said Tana, sales manager at Colliers International, who surprised the gorgeous fashion designer with his 7am proposal on the sand.

The glamour couple joined A-listers in the Allure South Sea Pearls marquee on Saturday as part of the annual Broome Cup festivities.
