Girl, 14, sexually assaulted on street

Police are hunting two men who grabbed a 14-year-old girl on a residential street in Rivervale and indecently assaulted her.

The teenager was walking on Roberts Road at 4.40pm on August 4 when she was grabbed from behind as she approached the Kooyong Road intersection.

One of the men held the girl against a fence and threatened to harm her before both indecently assaulted her, a police spokeswoman said.

"When the girl screamed, one of the men placed his hand over her mouth," she said.

The girl managed to break free and was chased by one of her attackers as she run off.

Both men were solidly built, aged in their mid-20s, and had light brown skin.

They were both wearing baseball caps and one had on white shorts and a black T-shirt which exposed a shoulder-to-elbow tattoo on his left arm.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have information that could help identify the two men.

Calls can be made to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
