'Texting driver' charged after rolling car

A 25-year-old Victoria Park man who was allegedly texting when he rolled his car will appear in court next month.

At 2.15am this morning police allege the man was driving a Holden Rodeo on State Street in Victoria Park, while sending and receiving texts on his mobile phone.

He then lost control of the vehicle as it mounted the curb, hit a parked car and rolled over, landing on its roof.

The driver was not injured.

He has been charged with driving with a blood alcohol level in excess of 0.08 per cent and using a mobile phone while driving and will appear in Perth Magistrate's Court on August 21.
