'Texting driver' charged after rolling car

A 25-year-old Victoria Park man who was allegedly texting when he rolled his car will appear in court next month.

At 2:15am this morning police allege the man was driving a silver Holden Rodeo on State Street in Victoria Park, while sending and receiving texts on his mobile phone.

He then lost control of the vehicle as it mounted the curb, hit a parked car and rolled over, landing on its roof.

The driver was not injured.

He has been charged with driving with a blood alcohol level in excess of 0.08 per cent and using a mobile phone while driving and will appear in Perth Magistrate's Court on August 21.
