Mermaid Marine says it will work to ensure planned strike action by maritime union employees at its Dampier Supply Base does not affect its services to customers.
The company announced after the close of ASX trade that it had received notice from the Maritime Union of Australia that Dampier-based Mermaid workers would strike for 10 days from Thursday next week.
The protected strike action relates to ongoing negotiations between Mermaid and the union over a new enterprise bargaining agreement.
"The proposed action will not directly impact Mermaid's slipway or vessel operations or its international operations," the company said.
"Mermaid is implementing strategies to ensure the proposed protected industrial action does not impact on business continuity for its customers."
The company said it remained committed to a fair and reasonable outcome for all parties.
Mermaid shares closed up 5.5 cents to $2.05.
