Jackman gets soccer fever

Health-obsessed Hugh Jackman has unleashed his inner couch potato - at least for the duration of the FIFA World Cup.

The Wolverine star took to Twitter to confess his love for the world game, posting: "FIFAWorldCup LOVE it!! x hj."

Jackman then posted a selfie watching the Algeria and North Korea match alongside the caption "ADDICTED" to Instagram. In the photo the Aussie, who's currently filming Peter Pan origin tale Pan in England, was sporting his new Blackbeard look, complete with bald head, beard and twirled moustache while standing in front of the TV, right.

But it is when the Aussies play that Jackman really fires up.

After Tim Cahill's stunning goal in the Socceroos match against Netherlands, he tweeted that the Aussies were putting up a great fight and "doing us proud!! Cahill . . . brilliant".

On June 12 the Wolverine again got patriotic, posting a photo of him in a Socceroos jersey to Instagram with the caption: "Come on Aussies!"

While Australia might not be continuing to the next stage of the World Cup, you can bet Jackman tuned into this morning's match against Spain and cheered the Socceroos on.
