Jackman goes bald for role
Hugh Jackman has shocked fans by apparently shaving his head - but it's all for his latest movie role.
Fresh from hosting the Tony Awards earlier this week, the actor has begun work on the new Peter Pan film, in which he plays pirate Blackbeard.
Jackman yesterday shared a snap of his bald head and bushy beard on Instagram while undergoing hair and makeup for the role, captioning the image: "Blackbeard is born".
It is unknown if the Australian star indeed shaved his head for the part or whether it was simply a clever trick played by the movie's makeup artists.
Currently shooting in England, the Peter Pan flick also stars Amanda Seyfried as Mary, Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily and Garrett Hedlund as Hook, while model Cara Delevinge appears as a mermaid.
