UPDATE: Jockey Clint Harvey will be sidelined for up to six months after badly breaking a shoulder in a sickening fall at Pinjarra yesterday.

Fellow hoop Steven Parnham fell from Power Punch near the 600m and Harvey hit the turf after attempting to steer his mount, Arabian Thief, clear of Power Punch in race three.

Harvey will be transferred to St John of God Hospital later today to undergo surgery.

Dr Gerrard Taylor, of Subiaco SportsMed, said the break was quite serious.

Parnham escaped any serious injury but remains at Royal Perth Hospital for observation on bad swelling to a leg.

At this stage doctors are not considering draining Parnham’s thigh.
