$1m Mother's Day Lotto gift

A WA mum’s Mother’s Day became one to remember after she won $1 million.

The woman from Perth’s southern suburbs decided to treat herself to a Lotto ticket as a gift.

She now has reason to celebrate the spur of the moment decision.

"I was in a bit of a rush on the day I purchased it but made a quick decision to treat myself.

“I really didn’t expect that I’d win. I have been in complete shock and the news still hasn’t sunk in," the woman said.

The ticket from last Monday’s Lotto draw was purchased from Nextra Forum West Newsagency in Mandurah.

A ticket worth $1,027,919 was sold there in February.

WA’s tally of Division 1 winners so far this year is now at 26.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said the State’s winning streak may be a sign of good things to come this weekend.

"So far this year, our Division 1 Lotto winners have shared in more than $40 million worth of prizes.

“This included a $15 million win last month won by a southern suburbs couple," Ms Compagnone said.
