Two new Hilton hotels for Perth
The DoubleTree Hilton planned for Perth.

Perth will get two new hotels within three years under plans announced by Hilton today.

One 241-room hotel is destined for the waterfront at 351 Riverside Drive, adjoining Barrack Square, and a smaller 150-room hotel will be in Fremantle.

Both hotels will be branded DoubleTree by Hilton and open in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Hilton Asia-Pacific Hilton president Martin Rinck said the hotels formed part of the group’s growth plan in Australia.

Last week, Luxury hotel chain The Ritz-Carlton has confirmed it will build a 204-room hotel at Perth’s Elizabeth Quay.

Mariott International Asia president Simon Cooper said the hotel would open in 2018.

Before today’s announcement, more than $3 billion in hotel developments were in the pipeline for Perth and Fremantle.

Data compiled by the Australian Hotels Association (WA) shows that Perth is set to lead the nation on hotel establishment.

Also on the hotel list is a 40-storey development at 190 Adelaide Terrace valued at $280 million, a 154-room development at Woolstores in Fremantle and a nine-storey addition to the Duxton Hotel.

A $350 million hotel is also proposed at the Old Emu Brewery site, a $250 million property is earmarked for the former FESA building and the $568 million Crown Towers will be built at Burswood.
