Police hunt skateboard bandit

Police are hunting two men wanted over separate armed robberies in Como and Mt Lawley last month.

In the Mt Lawley incident, a man armed with a screwdriver threatened a woman and stole her handbag as she waited for a bus on Beaufort Street on February 26.

It is believed he got into a waiting white van, which drove off along Vincent Street towards Mitchell Freeway.

The man is aged in his late teens or early 20s, with fair skin, slim build and short white hair. He was wearing a black Adidas hoodie.

In the other incident, staff at the Preston Street Subway store in Como were threatened by a man wielding a syringe at 8pm on February 19.

The offender stole cash before fleeing on a skateboard.

He is aged between 25 and 30, has a fair complexion, and is about 183cm with a skinny build.

He was wearing dark coloured clothing and a faded brown ‘Rusty’ baseball cap.
