Underage fans of Lorde will be excited when the New Zealand pop sensation hits the road for an Australian tour next month.

Lorde, right, will play venues where all ages can attend for the first time.

The 17-year-old's younger fans were upset when she came to Perth last month and played at the adults-only St Jerome's Laneway Festival in Fremantle.

Lorde's new concert tour will include "a killer light show and a few surprises along the way" and has attracted rave reviews since it kicked off in the US this week.

Since emerging just 18 months ago, Lorde, real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor, has enjoyed a string of instant hit singles with songs such as Team and Tennis Court and won the Grammy Award last month for song of the year for her breakthrough single Royals.

Lorde will play Challenge Stadium in Mt Claremont on April 29, with tickets going on sale through Ticketmaster at 9am on March 21.
