Motorcyclist allegedly ran red light

A motorcyclist who allegedly rode through a red light in Ballajura last night has been charged.

A police spokesman said breath and drug bus officers charged the 22-year-old after stopping his motorcycle last night.

"The officers were attached to a breath and drug bus operation when about 7.50pm they noticed a motorcycle contravene a red traffic light at the corner of Hepburn Avenue and Alexander Drive in Landsdale," the spokesman said.

"The officers followed the motorcycle and observed the rider weaving in and out of traffic along Hepburn Avenue up to Beechboro Road in Ballajura, where they managed to get alongside the motorcycle and block it in.

"The rider was arrested in relation to his manner of driving."

The police spokesman said the rider and the motorcycle were searched and officers allegedly found cash, a small amount of Cannabis and a clip seal bag containing a white powder, believe to be methylamphetamine.

The Landsdale man has been charged with Reckless Driving, No Authority to Drive, Unregistered Vehicle and inquiries into the drugs are continuing.
