Three teens 'started Woodvale fire'

Three teenage boys who allegedly lit a fire in Woodvale have been charged by police.

Police will allege the three 17-year-olds used a homemade fire-lighting device to start a blaze at Yellagonga Regional Park, near Timberlane Drive at about 8pm.

A nearby resident, who allegedly witnessed the incident, alerted police and fire crews.

The fire burnt about 40sqm of the park.

The teenagers, who are all from the northern suburbs, were each charged with one count of setting fire to bush during a prohibited burning time.
