Brit's body blunder
Britney Spears kicked off her much-anticipated Las Vegas two-year residency on Friday night amid reports she had abs airbrushed on to her body for a preview show.
The hitmaker took to the stage for a 90-minute performance featuring 23 of her most-loved songs, seven costume changes and two wigs while celebrity guests such as Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus watched on from the audience.
Following in the footsteps of Celine Dion and Elton John, Spears' residency at Vegas hot spot Planet Hollywood will see her sing her way through around 100 shows until the end of 2015.
But the production, titled Piece of Me, did not get off to the best start.
Just a day earlier the 32-year-old, who reportedly underwent a gruelling training regime to get her body into shape for the shows, came under fire for appearing to have makeup applied to enhance her abs.
In a photo of her rehearsing for a sneak-peek performance, Spears donned embellished nude stockings and a matching top that showed off her questionable mid-section, leading one fan to comment on Twitter: "WTF are these spray tanned hulk abs @britneyspears??????"
