Hurt Waves call for reinforcements
The injury-hit West Coast Waves have called Nikita-Lee Martin into the squad as a replacement for Kate Fielding, who is likely to miss the remainder of the WNBL season with a shin stress fracture.
Martin, 25, has previously played 123 WNBL games for the Waves, AIS, Sydney Uni and Adelaide.
She will return to the Waves line-up for tomorrow night's game against the Melbourne Boomers at the Willetton Basketball Stadium.
The Waves have struggled all season and sit last on the ladder after losing their last 12 consecutive games.
They face a difficult task against the finals-bound Boomers tonight.
The Boomers, formerly Bulleen, beat the Waves by 22 points on their last trip to Perth.
