The Seekers tour for 50th anniversary

Next month marks 50 years since The Seekers first sang together in a little coffee shop in Melbourne in 1962. Little did they know that they would go on to conquer the international music world, and become Australia’s national treasures.

Judith Durham, Athol Guy, Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley have reunited for ‘The Golden Jubilee Tour’. Together, they will take their fans down memory lane with stories, memorabilia, messages of congratulations from music industry contemporaries, and video clips on the big screen.

As part of their 50th Anniversary celebrations, The Seekers will share their music live in concert with their millions of Australian fans throughout May 2013.

A golden jubilee is an extraordinary milestone, especially when you consider that The Seekers are still performing and recording in their original lineup.

To celebrate this very special occasion, Judith and ’the boys’ slipped quietly into the studio mid-2012 to record two brand new tracks, which open the unique, ’50-tracks for-50-years’ Golden Jubilee Album.

The 2CD album will be released on Friday November 16 and come Tuesday December 4, The Seekers will celebrate their 50th Birthday in their hometown Melbourne where the band was presented the ‘Key To The City’ in 2006.

These two new 50th anniversary studio recordings from The Seekers kick off a look back at some of the songs and smash hits that have helped our own Fab Four take their place in the history books as the pop phenomenon that put Australia on the international music map.
