Driver's hilarious mistake in makeshift licence plate
A wannabe “criminal mastermind” has been caught out by police after they spotted something suspicious about the decal on his licence plate.
While giving credit for his “8/10” colouring in, police in Victoria were not as impressed by the driver’s choice of canvas.
In a post to Facebook on Monday, Wyndham Police Service Area said divisional van police officers in Werribee, southwest of Melbourne’s CBD, pulled over a Holden Commodore on Friday, noting the odd appearance of its licence plate.
On closer inspection, the plates were revealed not only to be false, but to actually be crafted with a blue marker on a white sheet of paper.
In an embarrassing attempt to makeshift a Victorian licence plate, the opportunistic driver had also misspelled the word “education”.
“Victoria - the edgucation state”, the creative motorist wrote, finishing the job off with a blue border and a random collection of letters and numbers.
Police took the prime opportunity to make an example of the opportunistic driver, who they said was given “an 8/10 for his colouring in skills, a 2/10 for his spelling ability, and an additional charge for court”.
“Criminal Mastermind...not quite!” they also wrote.
People had a field day with the makeshift number plate, with one claiming the driver deserved a packet of crayons for his effort.
“I see he got the finest edgucation available,” one wrote.
“Certainly pays to be edgucated,” another person joked.
“I’m actually impressed but hey I can’t spell either,” a third added.
