Terrifying moment driver confronted by man on dark road 'carrying gun'

A man has filmed what he believes was a terrifying run-in with a person carrying a gun who emerged from the darkness into the middle of a suburban road in Melbourne.

Rich Huynh was driving through Springvale in Melbourne’s southeast on Tuesday after 11pm when he noticed a man standing on the road.

Mr Huynh shared dashcam video of the man’s approach to Facebook.

The man steps in front of Mr Huynh’s car and places his hand down the front of his pants appearing to reach for something.

But Mr Huynh swerves around the man and drives off.

He later wrote on Facebook the man “hopped out of nowhere” in the path of his car and “purposely” got in the way.

Mr Huynh alleged the man was reaching for a gun.

“I then floored the car towards him,” he wrote.

“That’s when he tried to break my window.”
