Two teens have been left with serious injuries and another two are on the run after the stolen car they were driving crashed into another vehicle in Melbourne’s north.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Civic Drive and McDonalds Rd in Epping about 2.25am on Tuesday.

Police say a stolen white MG hatch was seen speeding in the moments before it ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle.

A 16-year-old girl and 13-year-old boy, both inside the stolen vehicle, were seriously injured in the incident.

Both were taken to hospital under police guard.

Another two teenagers are believed to have fled the scene on foot following the collision, leaving the injured pair behind inside the MG.

The driver of the other car, a 30-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to hospital for treatment.

As of 9am, the two teens who fled the scene remain on the run, with police and the dog squad continuing their search for the duo.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident, who has further information or dashcam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers.
